Patrick Petrone

Pat Petrone was a mainstay of the 1965 Greater Boston League Champions. A three year starter at first base the lefty slugger was 6th in the league in batting average (.324) in his senior year and second in the league in RBIs.

In the field , Pat also excelled. A smooth fielding lefty, he rarely made a mental error. In League play he handled 96 chances without an error and in overall play his fielding average was .982.

Pat was named to the Greater Boston League All-Star team in 1965.

Known as a smart player, Pat used his knowledge of the game to help youngsters learn the game. In 2008 he finished his 43rd year of coaching varsity baseball at Saugus (MA) H.S.
